During Parish Mass, some of our young worshippers will receive Holy Communion
for the first time.
They have been preparing carefully over a period of weeks for this great spiritual moment in their young lives.
‘The Host in your mouth is Christ in your heart’
You may like now to reflect, using these (or your own) words:
I believe and I confess, Lord, that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came into the world to save us.
I believe that this is truly Your pure Body and that this is truly Your precious Blood.
Therefore, I pray to You, have mercy upon me, and forgive me all my sins, voluntary and involuntary, of thought, word, deed and omission.
And grant that receiving these Holy Mysteries may preserve my body and soul in everlasting life.
Of Your Mystic Supper, Lord, admit me now a Partaker ….
Are you ready to receive Him when He comes to you in Holy Communion?
