While we were in Walsingham 4-8 August 2014 ….

We arrived on Monday after a good journey by Coach

made our First Visit to the Holy House

and settled in

On Tuesday morning, after Mass at 8.15am, then Breakfast, 

we followed the Stations of the Cross through the Shrine Grounds

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You

for by Your Holy Cross 

You have redeemed the world, alleluia!

Lunch, then an afternoon free (some took a trip to Holt)

In the Evening, we gathered with the other Pilgrims

in the Shrine Church for a wonderful 

Liturgy of Healing 

which included a homily by Fr Stephen Gallagher,

Sprinkling with Water from the Holy Well,

followed by Eucharistic Adoration

and, in His Sacramental Presence,

the Laying on of Hands and Anointing with Holy Oil

and the Sacrament of Reconciliation in private

On Wednesday we gathered in the Shrine Church at 11am for

The Pilgrimage Mass

at which Fr David concelebrated with the other Priests

and our Home Team had the privilege of Serving the Mass

image

Lunch over, we headed off to the Slipper Chapel

image

After a briefing we hit the road, reciting the Rosary,

contemplating the Mysteries of Light,

praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are persecuted

and for Christian Unity in Mission and Witness

and singing the new Ecumenical Walsingham Hymn

some of us, as is traditional, barefoot

at the Slipper Chapel, 

we lit candles and prayed for unity in evangelism

image

 

Back at the Shrine, after Supper

we gathered for the Evening Liturgy @ 8.15pm

when Bishop Lindsay reminded us that

’24/7, 365, 366 in a Leap Year – WE ARE PILGRIM’

before we set out in a Procession of Witness in honour of Our Lady

led by Fr Urwin and our own Gethin (on the Eve of his 8th Birthday)

ending with joyful Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

On Thursday, we celebrated Mass for the Mission of our Parish at 11am

and after Lunch, some took a trip to the seaside

In the Evening, we gathered at the Holy House for a time of

Reflection and Intercession

As we sang

‘Father, Father, Father, hear our prayer’

we knew the Blessed Mother was joining in ….

We had a Birthday Party for Gethin and Jean on Thursday

and on Monday, for Wendy

We gathered for an Aperitif each evening before Supper

On Friday, after a Mass of Thanksgiving in the Shrine Church

and a Final Visit to the Holy House

we set off back to St Julians, blessed, refreshed,

filled with the joy of the Catholic Faith,

renewed in our allegiance to Christ

because

JESUS IS LORD

and

24/7, 365, 366 in a Leap Year

WE ARE PILGRIM
